Yesterday, while putting Claira to sleep, i realized that Claira could sing the alphabet song!
"A...B...C...D...E...F...G...!" ... the entire song! though not very clearly articulated.
She would sing along with me during bed time while waiting for her bedtime milk...
To be honest, i really feel so proud of her! OMG!
Claira came into the Koh family on 12th Sep 2007... every moment with her around is magical...

Korean BBQ Monday
Wanyin and i had a day off from work yesterday and decided to go for some korean bbq pork belly.
We drove to Ju Shin Jung Korean Charcoal BBQ Restaurant at east coast to have our lunch... As we sat down in the restaurant, we ordered 2 set lunches and also the famous bbq buffet.
It was a buffet alright... but we didn't went pass round 1 with the set lunches and bbq pork belly/pork ribs/chicken...
As usual, Claira watched us eat and also had a few bites of our bbq lunch too...
and... not to forget, she was also pampered with some Baby Einstein videos on my old nokia E61.
We waited a little for the rain to stop outside before taking a walk at the beach...
Claira was so happy walking about on one of the grass patches, from left to right, and right to left... always keeping her eyes on the ground and careful not to fall...
Little Claira's gestures are always such a wonderful thing to look at...
This is what people call "watching your children grow up" !?!?
We really enjoyed the trip! =P

Throat Inflammation
Claira had been behaving pretty weird since last week... screaming and yelling on most occasions.
She had an "on and off" fever since Wednesday and finally went to see a doctor on Monday...
4 medicine to take! poor little Claira had throat inflammation...
Whenever i looked at Claira's face when she was about to take the medicine, it really hurts me to see that she is suffering... arghhhhh!!!
Luckily she looks ok today... no more fever, cough and running nose...
hopefully Claira doesn't falling sick again...
hmmm... ok, we all know that this is not possible...

Botanic Gardens
2 Sundays ago, we went to Botanic Gardens... It was a fine cloudy day with no scorching sun, and we were glad we make this trip...
Well, being a botanic garden, this place had quite a number of tress, bushes and plants.. some trees in particular were so huge, i can't help but imagine them being alive and walking around(like those in lord of the ring)... strange thought... haha...
There was this lake in the compound and we managed to have a close up encounter with one of the swan which was swimming around.
Little Claira pointed out her right finger and declare it to be a "duck"...
"No Claira, it's a swan!"... can't blame her, it ReAllY looks like a duck in her books... haha
This is a picture Wanyin snapped for me and Claira...
I had not spot many(or any??) flat grass areas where Claira can roam around freely... But that didn't stop Claira from demanding to walk on the grass...
Mummy Wanyin took this picture with Claira halfway through our walk...
Overall, it was a good trip... truely relaxing...

A little lame song...
While washing up Claira yesterday evening, a rhythm suddenly came into my mind.
Soon after, Wanyin and I were happily composing the mother-of-all lamest song...
Inspired by the nostalgic 想信我吧新家坡 (patriotic song), here is our little lame "invention":
Mummy 是个好 Mummy,
怀胎十月生你这个 Baby,
每天早上都吃个 Roti,
相信 Mummy 是决对的!
Daddy 是个好 Daddy,
每天早上起来都喝一杯 Copi,
放工回来就爱看 TV,
相信 Daddy 是决对的!
Baby 是个好 Baby,
每天早上起来都要换一个新 Nappy,
跑东跑西真 Happy,
疼爱 Baby 是决对的!

Hair Cut Xperience
omg... we survived a hair cutting session with Claira over the weekend!
why "survived"? Because it's so hard to coax Claira while the "barber auntie" was busy snapping away with her scissors...
We deliberately brought Claira to have a proper hair cut at Suntec... yes, that one that have a tiny little screen in front of the chair(that usually plays barney for some reason)...
We didn't want to risk cutting her ear(which by the way happened before) or her ending up with a "coconut head" hair style whenever her grandpa attempted to be THE "barber".
There we were at suntec in a perfectly crowded sunday afternoon, taking a waiting card that says "No. 29". Great. The current number was No.17.
We waited for almost for an hour for our turn.
I was holding onto Claira while she was struggling to come to terms with the noise of the scissors snapping near her ears... Hair (i didn't know that she had so much hair until now...) were falling on my shirt and Bermudas...
Immediately, we changed her out of her hair-covered dress and fed her milk.
Finally, 10 mins+crying+tears+$20+lots of severed hair later, we were done. Nice hair cut.
It wasn't the most enjoyable moments, but it was rewarding though...
Phew... another small victory. =P

No more camera phone
Due to my new job, i have to use a non-camera mobile phone soon.
As 99%(if not all) pictures in this blog were taken using my mobile phone, it could mean that the number of pictures that i could use for blogging may be reduced drastically.
I would have to rely on Wanyin's mobile phone for future "impromptu" photo takings with Claira ... which i find are more interesting.
Ok, mobile phone picture quality may not be as good as conventional camera images, but there is a certain fun(and convenient) element in using that little gadget from your pocket.
Maybe it's time to get a "super portable" camera... that fits my budget and pocket/bag. =P

1 year and 5 months old
To a great extend, i think Claira is a big girl now.
I remembered those days when , for a moment my eyes left Claira, she would somehow got into trouble... either falling down and knocking her head on the floor or falling off the bed...
100% attention focusing, not to get her into trouble.
There was once where i thought that "i got it all covered"... Claira was crawling on the floor in my room and i had both my hands a few centimeters away from her waist. Then, within a split second, Claira fell and knocked her head on the floor...
"was i too slow, or was she too fast??? what the hell?" i thought...
For the last few weeks, i was observing how my little gal have grown. All 17 months of growth.
I wow-ed at the fact that she is able to walk on her own, said "no..." with such cute-ness, dance whenever i sang the "hot dog song", points at things she is interested in, calls "Dad-dy", tell stories while finger pointing posters/books... among many other things.
At a blink of the eye, my Claira is 17 months old...
The recent stint at "My Gym" may have helped Claira to be more open to new environments and people. She doesn't scream at the first sight of a unfamiliar face now. In fact i managed to bring Claira to my primary school teacher's house (single handedly), during Chinese New Year period, without much trouble. But i'm quite reserved to credit this entirely to My Gym, rather than the nature process of growing up.
You are daddy's pride, Claira.
