Messy feeding time

Feeding Claira was not quite easy sometimes... especially when she is cranky and/or wants to sleep.

I took some pictures of her during meal time today:

Very messy!!!

There always have to be 2 persons feeding her cereal and porridge; one to feed and one to attract her attention( so that she does not fidget too much...).

A Book for Claira

Wanyin and i ordered a special gift for Claira for her first month... Her very own book!!!


All we need to do is to fill in some inputs such as her name, birth date, place of birth... etc.
In a couple of weeks, the book was ready to be collected near bugis mrt station.

Quite an interesting book... we had much fun reading the contents of the book to her... cool!

Lunch out with Claira

The family of 3 was left alone in the house on Tuesday...which was yesterday... so we decided to lunch out.

We didn't have the car to use today... so we put Claira in the pram and walked almost 15 mins to a food center in simpang bedok.

Hell it was warm!!! Halfway on our way there, i was regretting the decision already...

We finally made it to the food center and found no air-conditioned restaurant. So we ordered some noodles and indian rojak for ourselves in one of the coffeeshop... of course, we also ordered ice kacang!!! :P

Apparently, Claira did not like the weather too... She was struggling in her pram and making some noise already...


I gave her my handphone to play with, and within a blink, my precious handphone came crashing on the floor... IT WAS CHIPPED off in some corners.... damn... my luck... :(

Anyway, this is the first time we had lunch together with Claira without using the car...

Claira Sits

Claira was able to sit up straight herself for a considerable long period of time... We have not really tried to "push her to the limit", but she is able to sit on her own, without support, for about 15 minutes at a stretch...

Look at her, so excited about her new found ability:

Not only is she able to sit up on her own, she seems to have warmed up to the little "toilet training" that we have been trying to teach her... Look!

So cute!!! haha.

Swimming baby

Claira went for her 2nd swimming session today!!!

Due to some "not so nice" photo taking skills by Wanyin, i'm left with a "half-faced-daddy" picture with baby Claira...


Claira is beginning to like swimming... giggling and sometimes shouting in the pool. haha.

Dinner was also quite nice... We met up with Kelvin, Steven and Aaron for a dinner at Expo.
It's a restaurant called BaBaKing... the dishes are a little spicy, but very tasty!

Another enjoyable Sunday afternoon.

Godfather Leon?

Leon(aka Guoyang) came back from Australia this week for a holiday, taking a break from his PhD studies in Melbourne. Qiuju also came back with him.

I remembered Leon proposing to be Claira's godfather when she was born. But i didn't agree to it at first because at that time, there were too many things on my head to think about... A new baby in the house is always going to make everybody so busy and edgy...

Considering that he is one of my best friends since secondary school days, he is well qualified to be Claira's godfather... oh well, let's see.

His dad bought a new bungalow at Toh's Drive, Upper Changi Road... Very near to where i stay. About 15 mins of driving.

Wanyin, me and Claira went to his new house on Wednesday night. Seekiat and Weishuien also joined us... Quite a nice place, with the swimming pool and basement area... but the weather was a bit warm.

Claira was not quite used to the new place and was crying for about 45 mins, before she calmed down and behaved normally...

We left at 10:00pm, an hour after Claira's bedtime.

We have another gathering session today at my place...
Leon is leaving for Australia on Monday night.

6.4kg???

I carried Claira and stood on the weighing machine... It showed "77.2kg" on the digital display.
When i place Claira on the bed and stood on the weighing machine myself, it showed "70.8kg".

So, 77.2 - 70.8 = 6.4kg

Is Claira really weighing at 6.4kg already?
Maybe not, because she had just finished her milk... 150ml of similac...
But nonetheless, it's an encouraging sign anyway.

Maybe we are going to bring her swimming this coming weekend.
It all have to depend on Wanyin's grandma condition in hospital.

Swimming Princess

Little Claira went swimming yesterday!!!

We brought Claira to the swimming pool in our condominum yesterday around 4:00pm.
It was a sunday and the weather is just right... hot, humid, but not raining or windy.
The perfect weather for Claira's first swim!

I think Claira loved the swimming session... she was very curious about the water, and at the same time a little unsure, and afraid... But i think she enjoyed this experience.

I just loved to watch her face grew from being afraid, to curious, and finally to excitement!
It was pure enjoyment! :P

Hope to bring her to the pool more frequently...

Enhanced diet?

We just changed Claira's diet sometime last week.

Summary:
Old Diet:
- 2 X porridge
- 4 X milk(120ml) - NAN 2 HA
Enhanced Diet:
- 2 X porridge
- 1 X cereal
- 3 X milk(120-150ml) - Similac

We hoped that by doing so, Claira would get more energy from her food and have her put on some weight... at 7 months old, Claira is weighing at about 5.9kg on the scales...

So, lets observe the results in a couple of weeks...

Trip to Ikea

Little Claira made a trip to Ikea this evening around 4:00pm.
It has been a long time since we brought her outdoors since the many unpleasant happenings during the last few weeks... mosquitoes, bird lice, fake measles, underweight claims....etc.

My in-laws, Wanyin, Claira and me enjoyed this little trip to Ikea... and Claira is looking very ANGEL today! oh, i really love her... he he he...

Hope that we take her out more often, provided that everything is going smooth in the family for us...

It will get better! I know it! :P

The day of arrival

On 12th September 2007, little Claira came into our world and became the new addition to our family. Her full name is to be : Claira Koh Hui Ying.

Weighing at 2.89kg at birth, Claira was delivered via C-section by Dr. Christopher Chong at GlenEagles hospital.

Things got busy for me and Wanyin... We are now proud parents of a healthy little girl!!!
